Passé de l’immensité sibérienne à la gloire planétaire, le violoniste virtuose Vadim Repin nous emmène dans un monde d’harmonies magiques.
Depuis Irkoutsk sur le lac Baïkal jusqu’à Berlin, Bruxelles, Paris et Dijon, nous suivons l’artiste. En plus de le voir jouer en soliste avec les plus grands orchestres, on l’entend aussi dans des trésors de la musique de chambre. Presque en marge, on y apprend plus sur l’itinéraire personnel de cet artiste d’exception, considéré par Yehudi Menuhin comme le violoniste le plus parfait au monde.
Le virtuose Vadim Repin a suivi les cours du génial professeur de violon Zakhar Bron à Novosibirsk, loin de l’usine à talents moscovite. Très tôt destiné et préparé à une carrière de soliste, il a été formé selon la tradition de « l’école russe ».
Le talent du jeune Vadim Repin ne fait aucun doute : à onze ans, il remporte le Concours Wieniawski en Pologne et à dix sept ans, il repart avec le premier prix de l’ardu Concours Reine Elisabeth de Bruxelles. Sa carrière internationale peut alors commencer. Aujourd’hui, il est l’un des violonistes les plus demandés au monde.
Sa discipline et sa virtuosité athlétique lui permettent un jeu qui surprend par sa légèreté ainsi qu’une sonorité lumineuse et transparente qui n’en finit pas de fasciner. Pour atteindre l’Olympe des violonistes, Vadim Repin a bénéficié, en plus de l’enseignement de son professeur Zakhar Bron, du soutien de Yehudi Menuhin et de la manager de ce dernier, Eleanor Hope. Depuis son succès à Bruxelles, la mère du violoniste britannique Daniel Hope a entouré le jeune Vadim Repin de sa sollicitude.
Après des années passées à Hambourg et à Monaco, le virtuose du violon, maintenant âgé de 39 ans, partage son temps entre Vienne et Moscou. Malgré sa gloire planétaire, il est resté humble, plein d’humour et sans artifices. Marqué par une enfance et une adolescence studieuses en Sibérie, la vie occidentale a permis à Vadim Repin de devenir un musicien, un artiste et un homme pour qui la discipline, le plaisir de jouer et la sensualité de l’expérience sonore sont indissociables

Вадим Репин стал кавалером Французского ордена искусств
Родившийся в Новосибирске скрипач Вадим Репин стал кавалером Французского ордена искусств и литературы. Об этом по поручению французского министерства культуры объявил в минувший уикенд, после сольного концерта в парижском Salle Pleyel генеральный директор Cité de la Musique Laurent Bayle. Он отметил уникальное звучание Репина, его артистизм, преданность музыке и верность высоким стандартам профессии, установленным двумя великими учителями – Мстиславом Ростроповичем и Еуди Менухином, которые также являлись при жизни членами Французского ордена.
39-летний Вадим Репин впервые выступил во Франции в возрасте 13 лет и с тех пор регулярно даёт здесь концерты на протяжении четверти века. Он начал играть на скрипке в пять лет и через шесть месяцев уже впервые вышел на сцену. В 11 лет он получил золотую медаль на конкурсе Wienawski и дал дебютные сольные концерты в Москве и Санкт-Петербурге. В 1985 году, дебютировал в Токио, Мюнхене, Берлине, Хельсинки, а год спустя, в 15-летнем возрасте выступил в Карнеги-Холле. Два года спустя, Вадим Репин стал самым молодым победителем престижнейшего конкурса скрипачей Reine Elisabeth Concours за всю историю его проведения.
Последний сезон Репина включал выступления с Мути в Нью-Йорке, с Тиельманном в Токио, с Чайлли в Лейпциге, турне по Австралии с Лондонским филармоническим оркестром и Владимиром Юровским и премьеру скрипичного концерта James MacMillan, с Лондонским симфоническим оркестром под управлением Валерия Гергиева. Ранее в этом году он был награждён Victoire d’Honneur, наиболее престижной французской наградой, вручаемой в области звукозаписи.

Novosibirsk-born violinist Vadim Repin, 39, has been made a Chevalier of the French Order of Arts and Letters. The honour was conferred at the weekend following a recital in the Salle Pleyel, Paris, by Laurent Bayle, director-general of the Cité de la Musique, on behalf of the French Minister of Culture. Bayle paid tribute to Repin’s unique sound, his dedication and artistry, and his fidelity to the high standards of musicianship set by two of his greatest mentors, Mstislav Rostropovich and Yehudi Menuhin, both members of the same distinguished French Order during their lifetimes. Vadim Repin made his French debut at the age of 13, and has performed in France regularly for over a quarter of a century. He started to play the violin at the age of five and six months later had his first stage performance. At eleven he won the gold medal in all age categories in the Wienawski Competition and gave his recital debuts in Moscow and St Petersburg. In 1985 at fourteen he made his debuts in Tokyo, Munich, Berlin, Helsinki; a year later in Carnegie Hall. Two years later Vadim Repin was the youngest ever winner of the most prestigious and demanding violin competition in the world, the Reine Elisabeth Concours. Since then he has performed with all the world’s greatest orchestras and conductors. Last season featured concerts with Muti in New York, with Thielemann in Tokyo, with Chailly in Leipzig, a tour of Australia with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Vladimir Jurowski, and the unanimously acclaimed première of a violin concerto written for him by James MacMillan and performed with the London Symphony Orchestra and Valery Gergiev. Earlier this year he was awarded the Victoire d’Honneur, the French recording industry’s most prestigious musical award for a lifetime’s dedication to music.
